OSKAR MAURICIO ROJAS

Oskar was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1988
His artistic interest began in 2007, when he was introduced to street art, Contemporary african dance and fire manipulation, through a group of young performers in the neighborhood where he was living at that time in Ciudad Bolivar, Bogota.
During his time at Circo Ciudad, Oskar was inspired by his peers and creative environment, enabling him to develop as a performer and tune his personal training skills. Soon after, Oskar was accepted in the two year course at the National Circus School, Circo Para Todos in Cali Colombia. While studying there, Oskar concentrated on solo aerial acts as well as the original creation of the Aerial Bicycle, which he created and performed with his previous partner, Andrea Rios. With this creation they performed on cruise ships throughout Europe and Australia.
Following the Aerial Bicycle tours, Oskar meet Soledad Gomez in Argentina, who became his new aerial partner for the Kiebre Duo and the creation of their act SOl_O_S. With this act they participated in festivals in Europe such as Cirque Du Demain in Paris where they won the Silver Medal, and the Young Stage circus festival in Basel, Switzerland where they received the audience choice, and the Gold Medal. Also in the ''Artistika'' Festival in Visp-Switzerland with the Second Prize and the Public Prize .
In parallel to his work on the Kiebre Duo, he was performing an aerial act on the straps that have presented at several festivals in Europe and North America.
Oskar has been traveling around the world discovering inspiration through his experiences and enriching the development of his aerial style with the influence and feedback of the many artists, teachers, and friends that have crossed his path.
Currently Oskar is working in the creation of his solo performance with the help of other artist.

Oskar nació en Bogota, Colombia en 1988
En el 2007 comenzo su interes artistico en ese momento fue introducido en el arte callejero la danza afro contemporanea y la manipulacion del fuego, gracias a un grupo de jóvenes de Ciudad Bolivar, el barrio donde él vivía.
Luego entró a Circo Ciudad, un proyecto de circo social en Bogotá, donde Oskar pudo desarrollar sus propias habilidades de entrenamiento como artista, enfocándose en las técnicas aéreas.
Luego de esta experiencia, Oskar estudió durante dos años en la Escuela Nacional de Circo Para Todos en Cali, donde continuó su especialización como aerealista. En este periodo Oskar creó junto con Andrea Ríos un acto original de Bicicleta Aérea, con el cual actuaron en cruceros alrededor de Oceanía. Además trabajaron como trapecistas en varios espectáculos alrededor de Europa.
Luego Oskar comenzó a trabajar con Soledad Gómez en Buenos Aires creando Kiebre Dúo con un acto en cintas aéreas llamado SOL_O_S. Con esta pieza han participado en reconocidos festivales de Europa y Suramérica, tales como Cirque Du Demain en Paris, donde fueron ganadores de la Medalla de Plata, y también el Young Stage Circus Festival en Basel (Suiza), donde recibieron la Medalla de Oro y el premio del público. También en el festival Artistika en Visp-Switzerland recibieron El Segundo puesto y el premio del publico.
En paralelo a su trabajo con Kiebre Duo, Oskar trabajo en un acto de cintas aéreas que presentaron en varios festivales de Europa y Norteamérica.
Oskar sigue formandose enseñanado y viajando alrededor del mundo inspirándose y enriqueciendo su trabajo con el encuentro de diferentes profesores, artistas y amigos que se van cruzando en su camino.
Actualmente trabaja en la creación de su nueva pieza en colaboración con otros artistas.
